Digital Humanities Expertise
The Ghent Centre for Digital Humanities (GhentCDH) supports and advises digitally-enabled research in the arts and humanities at Ghent University and beyond.
At GhentCDH, we assist both new and ongoing projects that use digital tools, methods, or collections. Our team offers support throughout the entire project lifecycle, from helping with funding applications and project management to ensuring the sustainability of research results after project completion.
We have a strong track records of successfully funding applications, including grants from Ghent University, Flanders Research Foundation (FWO), Belgian Science Policy (BELSPO) and European programs such as Horizon 2020. For research data management and data management plans, we work closely with the Library Lab of the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy Library.
GhentCDH also plays a key role in building an international network and research infrastructure in the field of Digital Humanities.
The GhentCDH is an active participant in DARIAH-EU, the Digital Research Infrastructure in the Arts and Humanities and is currently the National Coordinating Institution for DARIAH-BE. In this context, GhentCDH is leading the development of the Virtual Research Environment Service Infrastructure (VRE-SI), funded by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO). We work closely with both DARIAH and CLARIN - European Research Infrastructure for Language Resources and Technology colleagues, particularly in the Benelux region.
